ADHD users interact with digital products differently. Standard app design often feels either too sterile or too chaotic, and accessibility in this space usually means reducing stimulation rather than meeting users where their sensory experience actually is. I wanted to design something that felt genuinely built for this audience rather than adapted for them.
My task was to create a full conceptual app including UI, brand identity, and a motion demo that would feel appropriate and engaging for ADHD users without being overwhelming.
For the icons I designed hand-cut silhouette shapes to evoke the intimacy of DIY craft projects from childhood. For the backgrounds I was inspired by kaleidoscope effects created with foil, broken glass, and cellophane to generate dynamic light textures. The interface features interactive and stimulating layouts tailored for ADHD users, with daily quizzes to evaluate mood and suggest balancing activities, plus a Do Not Disturb function built specifically to aid focus.
The project brought together motion, interaction, and empathy into a single visual system. It pushed me to think about accessibility not as a constraint but as a creative brief in itself, where every design decision had to do real functional work rather than just looking considered.
